Ending the year at Gstaad Palace feels like stepping into a Christmas storybook.
At Hotel O’Clock, we are always on the lookout for new venues for our clients—and there’s no better way to truly understand a place than to experience it ourselves.
The adventure started with a train ride from Geneva, taking us through snow-covered mountains to this magical spot. As the train pulled into the station, we spotted the Palace standing tall above the village of Gstaad, snowflakes swirling around it.
Walking into the lobby was like a warm hug. Cozy wooden interiors, beautiful Christmas decorations, the glow of the fireplace at the Lobby Bar, and a Christmas tree next to the window—it was pure festive magic.
Our room was great, with a breathtaking view of the mountains and Palace Gardens, and even a proper old-fashioned room key, for a touch of nostalgia.
We spent the afternoon at the spa, relaxing in the outdoor pool as snowflakes drifted down around us. Later, we tucked into a delicious fondue at La Fromagerie, served with love by Nardo, who’s been part of the Palace family for 25 years. The night ended with drinks by the Christmas tree and live music—so dreamy!
The next morning, breakfast came with that same incredible mountain view, plus loads of tasty local food in the cozy restaurant with its red chairs.
Sophie then took us on a tour of the Palace, telling us the story behind this family-owned hotel. We visited the Baccarat ballroom and the other natural light meeting rooms, the restaurants, the spa, and even got a peek inside the kitchen—the buzzing heart of the Palace that never stops.
Yes, you do feel like royalty here. As they say, “It’s not about the weather; it’s about the people.” And the team at the Gstaad Palace proved this true with their warm hospitality.
